CH LEGACY N HATTRICK'S LANCELOT
Breed by Robbie Donath & M&M Deer

I Began thinking about getting a new puppy in the summer of 2002 and started going to some shows and looking at different Dalmatian. A friend of mine name pat who also has two great Dalmatians help me look for the right things in a dog. After some looking and talking to allot of breeders I contacted Hattricks to see if I could get a puppy from them. At that time they were doing a co-breeding with Legacy Dalmatians. I was later contacted by Robbie the owner of Legacy Dalmatians and we began to talk. I think the first time I talked to Robbie I felt like I knew her for a long time and we just hit it off. She told me that when the litter was born I would get first choice male dog. When Lances litter was born on Feb 9 2002 I got a call from Robbie that there were 5 puppies but only one of those was a boy. I was excited and scared I wanted a show quality pup what if he wasn't. I got pictures all the time from Robbie and updates on the pups. At 5 weeks they went for there hearing test and Lance could hear thank god since the rest of him was looking good it look like I was getting my first show dog.
I went to Texas on April 5 2003 I meet Robbie and went to her house to see Lance. All of the puppies were there and they were so cute. At the same time I was there I got to meet Maureen of Hattricks she was there going over the puppies and pick one out for herself. My meeting with Maureen was brief since she had to go home in a few hours. I stayed at Robbie's that night and we got to know each other better it was a nice night. The next morning I had to leave to take lance home. The plan ride was very interesting. Lance was not very happy being in a crate for so long so he did squeak allot. We finally got home and Lance and Sarge got to meet. Sarge liked him allot and still does.
Lance and I started puppy class on April 9 2003 and he has been doing obedience ever since. Greta started work with Connie and me with our new pups on utility exercises. Lance is very enthusiastic and some much fun to train. We started working on conformation at home and went to class every once in a while to make sure I was doing things right. As lance got older we went to more and more classes for conformation. Our first Match was Ashtabula kennel club it was in May 18 2003> Our Dalmatian national was in Ohio that year and Robbie was up here for that. I took Lance and his sister Jayda to the Match. Lance worked very nice and Jayda did also but she would not stand still. The judge picked Lance. I was very excited we had to go in the best puppy part of the match then. Lance work nice again and he was having a great time. I showed him the best I knew how and he Won! Best puppy in the whole match..... Then I had to go against the adult that won the adult Match. I figured the Adult would win it was a nice looking Boxer but again I showed lance the best I could and the Judge Gave Lance a almost 5 month old puppy best in match. I couldn't believe it was so exciting. I not sure if anything else will come that close again.
We continued showing at matches until he could show at a regular show. His first show was the Dalmatian Specialty in Ohio. Lance did nice he took 2nd place in puppy sweeps, 4th place in the regular show. The next day he took 2nd place. He has been shown on and off still and He has taken 2 Reserve Winners Dog and shows. At Marietta show on March 6th & 7th he got his first points. He took winners dog both days!!! He got 1pt each day!!
Well we when to Columbus show on April 18th Lance got his 3rd point and went best of opposite. It was fun he did well... As of today august 16th 2004 Lance has 9 points and just needs Majors to finish..
today is November 16 2004 and this past weekend Lance finished his championship title. he won both days with 3 point majors. He also won best of opposite both days and on Sunday he won best of winners
Lance and I went to the IX show the weekend of December 9-12 2004 he did 2 days of agility and 2 days of obedience. In agility he did not qualify but ran nice runs for me both days I was proud of him for doing it and not having much class time. In novice B obedience he got 4th place with a score of 191 on Friday and on Sunday he qualified but did not place with a score of 186.5 I was happy with him.
Well Lance and I went to the DCA National in May he did agility but did not qualify but he did finish his novice obedience title with a score of 191.5 under Judge Linda McDonnell. He also made the first cut in the best of breed class...I am constantly amazed by him and his energy...
Lance and I entered Novice B obedience and best of breed at The New Castle shows and he qualified with a Third place and a score of 190. He did not do anything in best of breed but he is still young. We also entered Rally novice and got 3rd place out of 25 dogs entered in his class that was an interesting day because just before we were in the ring a big storm came through and it started hailing and we were in a open sided 4-h building Lance did not seem to mind because I was the one getting pelted by the hail not him.....LOL
We entered the Albion agility trial in July 2&3 2005 Lance qualified in novice standard with a second place and 24 seconds under time!! his first Leg....
Next we entered CABTC July 16 & 17 trial Lace qualified both day in standard got a 2nd and a 1st place to finish his title.......
I gotten so far behind on doing this website that lance is already in excellent standard and I can't remember how he got there. I do remember he finished his novice jumpers title at the ix in Decemeber 2005 he did not pass on two easy courses but it took him on the third day and the hardest course to finally pass. Oh yes and also at the IX we got our first excellent standard leg and second place. our second excellent standard leg came at Denise Thomas place in February 2006 also with a 2nd place. standard seems to be his thing.
our other new adventure came in February 2006 also Lance got to go to his first flyball tournament to race and he came home with his flyball dog title he ran his little heart out. The team had a rough start but we finally pulled it together. I hope to have flyball pictures one day.....
Well its October of 2006 and we have been very busy. Lance got his flyball dog excellent title in May and fell in love with a very fluffy aussie. LOL. We also did some agility trials over the spring and summer but not many he did get one leg over 4th of July weekend in Albion Pa in jumpers it was a very hard course and he was only one in his class to Q. we also one a set of 12 weave poles that day it was fun but it rained on us hard.... The end of July we went to another flyball tournament in Sandusky and ran on 2 teams he did well in the 90+ degree heat. I did not enter much after that because Mike and I went to Maine it was a great vacation without dogs.... In September we enter the sheltie clubs agility trial were on Saturday we did nothing and Sunday we came home with 2 blue ribbons and a title!!! he now has his excellent agility title. Finally we have stopped flyball for awhile to train for the road trial at the national this year. we also are doing Dock Diving Oh god what a great time this is. Lance loves it and his fist jump he did was 10'4" and he ended the day with a 16'4" jump WOW what a improvement....maybe someday a 20" jump? who knows just fun to try something new you dog love...until next time.
well we made a quick trip to hocking hills Ohio one Sunday to do a dock dive. It was a small show and Lance loved it he is officially hooked. his longest jump of the day was 19'11" and he got second place in the finals and a $150 check. it was a great day....We did another dock dive in Rochester NY October 22 I went with lance and my friends Greta and Kathy took there dog with me to see what they would do. Kathy's Portie said I know you are going to add soap as soon as I go in and would not jump. Greta's Snap who is a 10month old golden said he loves this new game but not enough to leap into the water more like fall in. His new theme song is I'm alittle tea pot. he would run to the edge of the dock and stop full force then tip in head first. it was so funny.. Now Lance he did good his first few jumps were 16-18foot ones he finally hit a 19'6" jump which was the farthest he went. He finished in 8th place behind some big jumping Lab who did 23+ feet. I was very proud of him can't wait to do it again. He also got his senior dock dog title at this event.
Lance and I also competed in a agility event on October 14th and 15th. On Saturday he got a qualifying score in Excellent B standard and 4 mach points. On Sunday he finished his Open Jumpers title with a second place!!!! finally get to go to Excellent!!!
I will have to write more but just a quick update lance has earned the following titles
Road Dog
He has gotten 2 Excellent jumpers legs
He has been actively competing in Dock diving so has place 2nd in the pro finals two times now and a 9th and a 4th place with a personal best jump of 24ft 8inches. will write more detail when I can find the time.
Ok found a little time to update on lance first I will start with the road dog trial. It took place in Kentucky April of 2007 and of course it rained and rained on us. I also got to rent a Belgium horse who was huge he was a nice horse but lance was a little afraid of him I don't blame him. his obedience went well and we passed we had to do a 12 mile ride in the rain and it was not that bad until the horse Phillip decided to jump the creek and I did not expect it and I fell off man did that hurt. now I am on the ground next to this huge horse who I could not get back on and I had to walk till by some miracle i found a downed tree that I got on and was able to climb back on the horse. I was able to follow a few people with there horses till I got my confidence back we did the 6miles and came in for our vet check at this point I was sore and really did not want to continue but Mike encouraged me to keep going so I did. I followed Linda back out on the trail and we continued on Phillip did great in all the mud and hills he we finished our ride with some time to spare it was fun but I am not sure if I would ever do it again. But Lance did get most fit Dalmatian, Youngest dog to qualify, and first place Road dog A. What a great dog.
The next day we competed in obedience where Lance got a Leg in Rally Advanced and a second place, he also did Brace with Sarge and the got Second Place. the following Day we did Agility and got first Place in Excellent Jumpers with weaves.
Most of the summer we did Dock diving Lance and I both love this sport and hope to make it to the worlds in 2008. We are also looking for sponsors for this sport.
We have also been competing in Flyball and have gotten our FDCH title along with a busy and beautiful award which was given to the dog with conformation title and flyball titles. We competed at another flyball tournament in January and Lance got his Flyball Dog Champion Silver. I am so proud of him and all his hard work. He has come a long way from the dog that could careless about a tennis ball to one that would do anything for it!
Also in January we competed in our first dock dive in 2008 in Louisville Kentucky. Lance placed fifth in the semi pro division. I was pleased with his indoor performance he improved his indoor distance by 2 foot from our last indoor show. and the water was so cold for him but he did not seem to mind at all.
